There are a number of deadlines to keep track of to ensure your practice is compliant with new U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) HIPAA Version 5010 rules.  The first of those deadlines is 1/1/11: the date when practices should test the functionality of practice management and clearinghouse software for claims, remittance advice, eligibility and referrals using Version 5010 standards.
