Educational Webinars for v5010 & ICD-10

Practices must comply with HHS HIPAA Version 5010 rules for claims, remittance advice, eligibility, and referrals.

There are a number of deadlines to keep track of to ensure your practice is compliant with new U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) HIPAA Version 5010 rules.  The first of those deadlines is 1/1/11: the date when practices should test the functionality of practice management and clearinghouse software for claims, remittance advice, eligibility and referrals using Version 5010 standards.

Good News for ZirMed users

The good news for practices sending transactions through ZirMed is that YOU ARE COMPLIANT with the 1/1/11 deadline.  ZirMed was months ahead of the mandate for testing commencement of 5010.  This advanced readiness allows ZirMed to devote increased resources toward meeting the industry’s second rules obligation, ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision).

If your practice or billing service is not using ZirMed to send transactions, please contact us immediately.  We can walk you through the steps to ensure readiness for the mandate.
Call us at 800.781.1044 to register for a basic overview of Version 5010 transaction standards and ICD-10-CM/PCS code sets at one of our webinars:
  • Tue., 9/28/10 at 11am EST.
  • Thu., 10/7/10 at 1pm EST.
 On the webinar, you will
  • Learn how the transition will impact your practice and how you can prepare.
  • Understand compliance deadlines and ask questions about whether your internal systems and clearinghouse will be compliant.
  • Gain insight into resources available to you for gaining additional information.
ZirMed continues to lead the industry as an early adopter in implementing HIPAA 5010 standards.  They are committed to helping you meet 5010 obligations well in advance of the January 1, 2012 deadline.
