There has been a lot of discussion over the final stimulus bill and how it might affect health care information technology (HIT).  It looks as if the final bill will allocate $19 billion to speed up the adoption of health care information systems by doctors and hospitals.

The infusion of funds is aimed at saving even billions more in medical errors and at improving the quality of care provided to patients.  It is also slated to create thousands of job in high-tech sectors to promote the increased use of technology in the health care industry.
