From a great launch to its final wrap-up, 2020 has been a year to remember. We started 2020 like usual with our annual kick off meeting. We gathered in Chicago, reviewing our 2019 achievements and laying out our goals for 2020. We also carved out time for team building. We hit the batting cages at Wrigley Field and learned to say ‘yes, and…’ in an improv workshop at The Second City – all good stuff. But then things changed. The pandemic pressed our team to adapt how we worked with our clients and with each other. We swiftly transitioned to home office work environments, sharing time on Zoom versus in the breakroom or at our HIMSS booth. We made the most of a less than ideal situation, meeting frequently to keep everyone informed and connected. As our clients led the front-line fight against COVID-19, we supported them. Our team – grateful for its ability to contribute from home – helped hospitals lock-down our nation’s protected health information. We offered technical assistance and masks to healthcare providers, informaticists, technologists and HIM teams nationwide. We are grateful for the tireless efforts exhibited by front-line workers. In the past year, we’ve also worked hard to innovate our offerings. We look forward to unveiling, in 2021, new products and services that will help to move and preserve data. We also look forward to helping our clients address the 21st Century Cures Act as well as other data integration projects. Our team continues to grow with many open positions to fill, projects to manage and data management issues to solve. We are excited for the future and look forward to new adventures in the coming year. As we give back to our community with donations to the foodbank and gifts for adopted families from St. Vincent de Paul, 2020 is a wrap (and a year we won’t soon forget).
