Comment Opportunities on “Meaningful Use” for EHR

You can make a difference! As a provider and future user of electronic health record (EHR) technology, you have an opportunity to comment on what you think “meaningful use” of an EHR should mean.

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is seeking comments on the preliminary definition of “Meaningful Use,” as presented to the HIT Policy Committee on June 16, 2009.  These comments may help to form the final rules required under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

Comments on the draft description of Meaningful Use are due in electronic format to MeaningfulUse@hhs.gov, with a subject line of “Meaningful Use” by 5 pm est June 26, 2009.  The email should be no more than 2,000 words in length to be considered.

For more information, go to the government’s health IT site.
